MOON DUST
A Tale about Petya Dubarova
The tale addresses the children at the age of 10 and 11. Using story- telling techniques, it tells about the life of the exceptionally talented Bulgarian poetess Petya Dobareva.
Little Petya’s original works, which she created from the age of 10 to the age of 13, are included in the book. The book ends with “Pages for My Friends”, which are to be filled with writings in the style of children’s questionnaires.
Every Bulgarian child should read “Moon Dust”. This is a book filled with light and love, telling about the magic of the genuine talent beyond the limits of age. This is a book which scatters the seeds of creativity over the most fertile soil- children.
“…Petya fulfilled the Fates’ prophecy and generously gave away her pure kindness and love to the people while she was among them…And then, when human spite and envy touched her heart, she fell asleep silently and suddenly, bidding farewell to nobody. All that was left behind was her blue notebook with the hearty confessions of a child, written with the soul of a poet, the purity of a child and the wisdom of an old lady…
Perhaps she turned into a fairy or a little star from the eternity, who gazes little children’s calm sleeping faces every night with her bright eyes to find the child who will continue her confession in the magic blue notebook…”
This book is a wonderful present to every child leaving 4th grade of the elementary school.
